About IFUSA

IFUSA was founded in April 2012. The association acts as a protective body for the quality of training and certification of forced use specialists. The association has the task of making this concept better known through IFUSA-certified therapists. With the association, the members want to ensure the defined standards of IFUSA. Findings resulting from current scientific research are to be properly integrated into the concept.

IFUSA is the point of contact for training centers, funding bodies, course participants, service providers and interested parties.

Founded in 2012, the Association for Occupational and Physiotherapy is strongly committed to ensuring and developing quality in forced use therapy. We stand for innovation and progress and are committed to integrating the latest scientific findings into our therapeutic approaches.

In order to continuously promote the professional expertise of our members, we offer a wide range of courses for the professional, neurological training of occupational therapists and physiotherapists. In addition, our Academy regularly organizes webinars that are free of charge for association members. These training courses cover current and practice-relevant topics and guarantee that our members are always up to date with the latest therapeutic practices.

In the tradition of our mentors Susan Woll and Jan Utley, who were both renowned Bobath instructors, we are committed to continuously enriching Forced Use Therapy according to Utley/Woll with the latest evidence-based scientific findings. This not only ensures the high quality of our teaching concept, but also promotes its continuous further development.

As a member of our association, you benefit from an active network of teachers, learners and people interested in the subject. Our IFUSA-certified instructors are available to answer your technical questions and support you in your professional practice with expertise and advice. The exchange in our network offers valuable impulses and promotes close cooperation that benefits all members. Legal advice is expressly NOT part of the association’s work.
